Flying from Vietnam to Thailand

Passengers flying from Vietnam to Thailand must fully prepare essential travel documents, including valid passports, confirmed air tickets, and identification. In addition to these standard documents, the following specific entry requirements apply for travel to Thailand:


🛂 Passport Requirements

  • All passengers must hold a passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into Thailand.

  • Ensure there are blank pages available for immigration stamping.


🛃 Visa Requirements

Visa-Free Entry for Vietnamese Citizens

  • Effective July 15, 2024, Vietnamese passport holders are exempt from visa requirements for stays of up to 60 days.

  • Conditions for visa-free entry:

    • A return air ticket

    • Confirmed accommodation for the duration of stay

Stays Over 60 Days

  • Vietnamese citizens planning to stay more than 60 days must apply for a valid Thai visa before departure.

General Visa Exemptions

  • Thailand grants visa-free entry to nationals of 93 countries, with the permitted stay duration depending on bilateral agreements.

📱 Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)

  • Starting May 1, 2025, all foreign travelers must complete the online TDAC form at least 3 days before arrival.

  • Declaration is done via the Thailand e-Declaration Website by following these steps:

1. Visit the site: Select “Arrival Card” to begin
2. Fill in personal details: Full name, nationality, passport info, contact info
3. Provide trip information: Arrival date, flight number, accommodation address
4. Health declaration: Required only for travelers from countries flagged by Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health
5. Confirm and submit
6. Download confirmation: An email confirmation with the completed TDAC will be sent—print or save a copy to present at immigration


💵 Proof of Financial Means

  • Immigration officers may require proof of sufficient funds for your stay.

  • The required amount varies depending on the traveler’s circumstances and nationality.

🦠 Quarantine & Health Regulations

  • Since October 1, 2022, no proof of COVID-19 vaccination, ATK, or RT-PCR test results are required upon arrival.

💰 Cash Declaration

  • Passengers may bring up to THB 50,000 into Thailand without declaration.

  • For amounts exceeding this limit, a customs declaration is mandatory.


🐾 Pet Import Regulations

  • Pets are classified as restricted import goods in Thailand.

  • Travelers must obtain an import permit from the Department of Livestock Development before bringing pets into the country.
