A visa extension allows you to continue your stay in Vietnam without leaving the country. If approved, you will receive a new stamp in your passport showing the updated duration of stay.

Visa renewal also lets you remain in Vietnam without exiting. However, instead of just a stamp, you’ll receive a new visa sticker and a new entry stamp.
